Litman Gregory is a privately owned company. Ownership is shared by 13 partners, including the two co-founders. Employees participate in our profit-sharing plan.

Litman Gregory’s skilled investment research team consists of 10 members focused on asset allocation research, manager due diligence, and portfolio construction. The team is led by chief investment officer Jeremy DeGroot, CFA®. The Investment Committee comprises 14 people, primarily the research team and investment advisors, and meets monthly to discuss research recommendations and portfolio issues for clients.

There are five senior investment advisors and two associate investment advisors at Litman Gregory who provide investment advisory services to individuals, family groups, foundations, nonprofits, and endowments. Our highly competent client service team is recognized in the industry for excellence in client service. All of our business lines are supported by our highly dedicated business operations team.

Jeff joined Litman Gregory in 2010. Before joining Litman Gregory, he worked as an Operations Specialist and Assistant Stock Trader for Sterling Johnston Capital Management LP in San Francisco. Prior to that, he worked for McMorgan and Company, LLC in the area of Equity Trade Settlements. Jeff is a graduate of Sonoma State University (BA – Political Science).

Kiran Johal
Partnership Accountant, Private Funds Group
Kiran joined Litman Gregory in 2005 as a Partnership Administrator. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Portfolio Administrator at AssetMark (now Genworth). Kiran relocated to San Diego in 2008, where she worked for a registered investment advisory firm as an Operations Analyst, trading and maintaining separately managed accounts. In 2010, Kiran moved back to the Bay Area and re-joined Litman Gregory as a Partnership Accountant and is responsible for overseeing the work of the firm's external partnership accountants. Kiran is a graduate of California State University - Sacramento (BA - Economics).

Charlotte Johnson

Charlotte joined Litman Gregory in 2011. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Charlotte served many years as an Administrative Production Assistant and Office Manager in the field of Catering and Event Planning. Charlotte is a graduate of San Francisco State University (BA – Psychology).

Cara joined Litman Gregory in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant for the Client Service team. Before joining Litman Gregory, Cara was a Client Service Representative for Phoenix American Financial. Cara is a transplant from the Lake Tahoe Basin, where she previously worked in Real Estate and Mortgage Lending in Administration and Accounting. Cara is currently finishing her BA in Business Management.

Erica Tustin
Senior Associate, Operations Group
Erica joined Litman Gregory in 2010 and transitioned from our Private Client Group to the Operations Group in 2011. She is involved in trading activities, database management, and building greater efficiencies in our operations workflows. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as an Investment Accountant at Springcreek Advisors, LLC, and prior to that worked at Sonic Solutions. Erica is a graduate of San Francisco State University (Business Administration - Decision Sciences).

JOhN BAXMAN
CFP®, Senior Investment Advisor
John joined Litman Gregory in 2009. He provides investment advisory services to individuals, family groups, foundations, and endowments. John's experience includes asset allocation, retirement planning, and compliance oversight. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, John served for 12 years as Vice President and Senior Account Executive with Fidelity Investments, where he was responsible for investment guidance and client service in their Private Client Group and was consistently recognized for outstanding client satisfaction. He is a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) and a graduate of Sonoma State University (Business, Finance).

Michelle Foster
MBA, Associate Investment Advisor
Michelle joined Litman Gregory in 2010. She provides financial analysis and portfolio management support to the investment advisory team. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Michelle served as a Principal in the iShares division of Barclays Global Investors where she was responsible for the development of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in asset classes such as international and emerging-markets equity and fixed income. Previously, Michelle served as Senior Manager of Business Development at Yahoo, Inc., and started her career as an Analyst in the investment banking division of J.P. Morgan. Michelle has completed the educational and examination portions of the CFP® certification requirements, and is a candidate for certification by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. She is a graduate of Stanford University (AB – Economics) and the Stanford Graduate School of Business (MBA).

Gretchen Hollstein
CFP®, Partner, Senior Investment Advisor
Gretchen joined Litman Gregory in 2005 and became a partner in 2010. She provides investment advisory services to individuals, family groups, foundations, endowments, and group retirement plans. Her experience includes extensive work in personal financial analysis, asset allocation, and retirement planning. Gretchen is a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) and serves as Board Chairperson for the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of San Francisco. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Gretchen served as Portfolio Manager with Bay Isle Investment Advisors, and previously as Vice President with Fremont Investment Advisors (a division of the Bechtel family office). Gretchen was awarded a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning with Distinction from the University of California - Berkeley Extension, and is a graduate of the University of California - Santa Barbara (BA - Business Economics, BA - Psychology).

Jennifer Lawson
Associate Investment Advisor
Jennifer joined Litman Gregory in 2011 as an Associate Investment Advisor. She provides financial analysis and portfolio management support to the investment advisory team. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, she worked with Larkspur Financial Advisors where she led client services as the Client Services Manager and steadily advanced her position to that of an Associate Investment Advisor. She holds a Registered Paraplanner designation from the College for Financial Planning and is a graduate of Sonoma State University (BA – Sociology).

Craig Keller
MBA, CFA, Partner, Senior Investment Advisor
Craig joined Litman Gregory in 2003 and became a partner of the firm in 2007. Craig provides investment advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, family groups, foundations, endowments, and retirement plans. His investment experience spans multiple asset classes including venture capital, private equity, and real estate. Craig is a member of the CFA Institute and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Craig managed pension, foundation, and endowment relationships for Global Asset Management in London and Sydney, and worked with various Canadian and U.S.-based financial firms. Craig is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and the London Business School (MBA - Finance).

CRAIG LITMAN
JD, MBA, Partner, Senior Investment Advisor
Craig co-founded Litman Gregory in 1987. He is a recognized investment expert with extensive experience advising individuals, family groups, and institutional investors. Prior to founding Litman Gregory, Craig was a Vice President and Senior Financial Consultant with Bailard, Biehl & Kaiser Inc., and was a practicing attorney for seven years before entering the investment business. Craig is a graduate of the University of Minnesota (BA - Business), the William Mitchell College of Law (JD), and Golden Gate University (MBA).

Chris Wheaton
CPA, CFP®, Managing Partner - Investment Management Services, Senior Investment Advisor
Chris joined Litman Gregory in 1997, became a partner of the firm in 2001, and became the Managing Partner of Litman Gregory's Investment Management Services practice in 2010. Chris has been providing investment and financial planning services to individuals since 1987. Chris' current clients include individuals, family groups, endowments, foundations, and retirement plans. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®). Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Chris was a Senior Manager with Arthur Andersen where he served clients in the firm's Investment Advisory and Personal Financial Planning groups. Chris is a graduate of the University of Illinois - Urbana (BS - Accounting).

Richard Chan
Research Associate
Richard joined Litman Gregory in 2011. His responsibilities include providing research and financial analysis support. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a Financial Analyst intern for The Retirement Group, LLC working with corporate pension and 401(k) plans. Richard is a graduate of the University of California – San Diego (BA – Economics, Minor - Accounting).

Jack Chee
Partner, Senior Research Analyst
Jack joined Litman Gregory in 2000 and became partner in 2011. His primary research responsibilities include selecting and monitoring equity, fixed-income, and REIT money managers, and performing asset-class research on the major fixed-income and REIT markets. His analysis appears monthly in Litman Gregory's No-Load Fund Analyst newsletter and on AdvisorIntelligence.com. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Jack was a Mutual Fund Analyst with Value Line Mutual Fund Survey. Jack is a graduate of Drexel University (BS - Mechanical Engineering). 

Jack Chee
Senior Research Analyst
Jack joined Litman Gregory in 2000. His primary research responsibilities include equity, REIT, and high-yield money managers, and the REIT market. His analysis appears monthly in Litman Gregory's No-Load Fund Analyst newsletter and AdvisorIntelligence. Jack is currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst program. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Jack was a Mutual Fund Analyst with Value Line Mutual Fund Survey. Jack is a graduate of Drexel University (BS - Mechanical Engineering).

Jeremy DeGroot
MA, CFA, Partner, Chief Investment Officer
Jeremy joined Litman Gregory in 1999 and became a partner in 2003. He is responsible for overseeing the firm's manager due diligence, asset class research, and tactical allocation decisions. He also shares responsibility with Ken Gregory for overseeing the Litman Gregory Masters Funds. His analysis appears monthly in Litman Gregory's No-Load Fund Analyst newsletter and AdvisorIntelligence. He is frequently quoted in the national media in the areas of asset allocation and manager selection. Jeremy holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Jeremy was an Economic Consulting Services Manager with KPMG Peat Marwick and was a Senior Economist with the Law & Economics Consulting Group. Jeremy is a graduate of University of Wisconsin - Madison (BS - Economics) and University of California - Berkeley (MA - Economics).

Ken Gregory
MBA, Partner, Chief Investment Strategist
Ken Gregory co-founded Litman Gregory in 1987. He currently serves as Litman Gregory's Chief Investment Strategist. Ken also serves as President of Litman Gregory Fund Advisors, LLC, the advisor to the Litman Gregory Masters Funds. Ken is a well-known investment authority, has spoken at numerous industry conferences, and has been frequently quoted in the national media in the areas of asset allocation and manager due diligence. Prior to co-founding Litman Gregory, Ken was President of Williams Asset Management, and was a Financial Advisor in Bank of America's Executive Financial Counseling Group. Ken is a graduate of University of the Pacific (BA - Business) and the University of Michigan (MBA).

Rajat Jain
MBA, CFA, Partner, Senior Research Analyst
Rajat joined Litman Gregory in 2003 and became a partner in 2010. His primary responsibilities include selecting and monitoring equity, fixed-income, and alternative investment money managers, and performing asset-class research for the major equity markets. His analysis appears monthly in Litman Gregory's No-Load Fund Analyst newsletter and AdvisorIntelligence.com website. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Rajat was a Vice President with Montgomery Asset Management and was an Associate Director with BARRA Rogers Casey. Rajat is a graduate of St. Stephen's College (BS - Physics) and the University of South Carolina (International MBA).

Ron Johnson
CFA, Partner, Chief Financial Officer, Investment Advisor
Ron joined Litman Gregory in 1991 and became a partner in 1996. He is responsible for the design and development of Litman Gregory's asset allocation and portfolio management systems. Ron has taught portfolio theory to CFA candidates and financial planning classes to CFP® candidates. Ron holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Ron worked at Deloitte & Touche as an Advisor in their Executive Financial Counseling Group and was an Advisor in Bank of America's Executive Financial Planning Group. Ron is a graduate of the University of California - Los Angeles (BS - Chemical Engineering) and Golden Gate University (Graduate Studies in Taxation).

Jessica Jorrie
Managed Portfolios Associate
Jessica joined Litman Gregory in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, Jessica worked as an Investment Analyst Intern at YSO Capital Management, an independent money management firm. Jessica also interned at Panoramic Interests, a real estate development company based in Berkeley, California. Jessica is a graduate of the University of California - Berkeley (BS - Business Administration).

Che-Min Lin
MS, Research Assistant
Min joined Litman Gregory in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Min worked as an Equity Research Intern for Denahi Global Investments LLC, a hedge fund company focused primarily on Asian equities. Prior to that, he served as a Volunteer Marketing Intern at SCORE, a nonprofit organization that provides consulting services to small business owners. Min is a graduate of Fu Jen University - Taipei (BA - Philosophy) and Golden Gate University (MS - Marketing, MS - Financial Planning), and has completed graduate coursework in Philosophy at Boston University.

Baie Netzer
CFA®, CFP®, Senior Research Analyst
Baie joined Litman Gregory in 2005. Her primary research responsibilities include equity and fixed-income mutual funds. Her analysis appears monthly in Litman Gregory's No-Load Fund Analyst newsletter and on AdvisorIntelligence. Baie has been quoted extensively in the national media on investing and personal finance. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Baie was a Quicken Product Manager for Intuit, a freelance journalist in Europe, and a Staff Reporter at Money magazine. She began her career as a Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York. Baie is a graduate of Stanford University (BA - International Relations).

Steve Savage
Managing Partner
Steve joined Litman Gregory in 1999, became a partner in 2003, and became a managing partner in 2010. In addition to overall business management responsibilities, he directly oversees the research publishing operations, including AdvisorIntelligence and the No-Load Fund Analyst. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Steve founded and served as executive director of both Value Line’s mutual fund research and electronic publishing divisions. Steve is recognized in the national media for his industry expertise, and has over 25 years of experience in mutual fund and investment research.

Chris Sawyer
Senior Research Analyst
Chris joined Litman Gregory in 2011. His primary responsibilities include selecting and monitoring equity, fixed-income, and alternative investment money managers as well as performing asset class research. His analysis appears in Litman Gregory's No-Load Fund Analyst newsletter and on AdvisorIntelligence.com. Chris holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Chris served the clients and advisors of First Command Financial Services as a Senior Portfolio Manager for the company’s turnkey asset management program. Chris is a graduate of Texas Christian University (BBA - Accounting; BBA - Finance).

Melissa Wedel
CFA, Research Analyst
Melissa joined Litman Gregory in 2002 as a member of the research team and also served as the Site Manager for AdvisorIntelligence. In 2006, she transitioned into a full-time research analyst role. Her analysis appears in Litman Gregory's No-Load Fund Analyst and on AdvisorIntelligence. Melissa holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Melissa was a Trader with AssetMark. Melissa is a graduate of the University of Miami (BBA - Economics).

Jeannie Churchill
Manager - Partnership Services
Jeannie joined Litman Gregory in 1998. She has served in various capacities during her tenure at the company, including Senior Portfolio Administrator and Compliance Delegate. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Jeannie served as Daily Valuation Analyst at Lawrence Johnson & Associates, and prior to that she completed a 20-year banking career as Branch Manager at Home Savings of America. Jeannie was also a licensed tax preparer for 13 years, and has been a licensed Notary Public since 1986.

Debbie Cohen
Portfolio Administrator
Debbie joined Litman Gregory in 2010 as a Portfolio Administrator for our Client Service team. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, she worked for a boutique recruiting firm specializing in corporate and non-profit talent. Prior to that, she worked as a Business Development Associate for BNY Mellon’s Private Wealth Management Group assisting with new business and marketing initiatives along with new employee training. Earlier in her career, Debbie provided support to financial advisors and portfolio managers in roles at UBS Paine Webber and also Weber, Fulton and Felman Investment Counsel.

Alexis Barker
Associate, Private Client Group
Alexis joined Litman Gregory in 2011. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Alexis was an intern at Kuhlmann Associates Financial in Napa, CA. She is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (BS-Finance, Minor-Global Business).

Judy Davies
Sr. Associate, Private Client Group
Judy joined Litman Gregory in 2009. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Judy worked as a Portfolio Administrator for Great Lakes Advisors in Chicago, IL. She is a graduate of The University of Colorado, Boulder (BS - Business Administration).

Monette de la Rosa
Sr. Associate, Private Client Group
Monette joined Litman Gregory Asset Management, LLC as a Senior Associate of the Private Client Group in 2011. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Monette was the Operations Manager of Rosen Real Estate Securities, LLC for five years and the Managed Accounts Administrator and Portfolio Accountant of Adelante Capital Management, also for five years. Monette is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines (BS - Economics).

Michele Dunevent
Assistant Manager, Client Service and Operations
Michele joined Litman Gregory in 1998 as a Portfolio Administrator. In 2010, Michele transitioned from Lead Portfolio Administrator to Assistant Manager of the Client Service team and manages the workflow of the team, is involved with training and coaching, and handles advanced client service responsibilities. Michele is a licensed Notary Public. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Michele spent three years at Montgomery Asset Management serving as a Portfolio Assistant working with high-net-worth clients.

Tisha Ehrenberger
Manager, Client Service and Operations
Tisha joined Litman Gregory in 2001, became Supervisor of Client Service in 2004, and assumed her current role in 2006. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Tisha was the Operations Manager for the Periodic Benefit Payment Unit of the Institutional Trust Division of Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco. Prior to that, she served as Sales Assistant to four financial consultants at Solomon Smith Barney. Tisha is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (BA - Social Welfare).

Kathie Hayes
Receptionist,
Administrative Assistant
Kathie joined Litman Gregory in 2004. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Kathie worked in customer service and reception for the software firm Envisix. Before that, she was involved in merchandising for a range of firms in Southern California, and previously worked for various banks and asset management companies.

Janie Gu
Marketing Intern
Janie joined Litman Gregory in 2011 as a Marketing Intern. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Janie worked as a research intern for the United States Department of Agriculture and as a consultant for Affinity Consulting. She is currently pursuing a double major in Economics and Integrative Biology as an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley.

Taylor Hellinge
Sr. Associate, Private Funds Group
Taylor joined Litman Gregory in 2007 as a Portfolio Administrator and transitioned to the role of Alternative Investments Administrator in 2010. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, she worked as a Portfolio Administrator for the Pacific Advisory Group in Atherton. Taylor is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University (BA – Economics; Concentration – Accounting).

Lyla Kamimura
Associate, Private Funds Group
Lyla joined Litman Gregory in 2007 and is responsible for account setup, reconciliation, and reporting for partnership clients. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Lyla was a Tax Administrator for Simon Associates and has been a licensed tax preparer for six years. She also has been a licensed Notary Public since 2004.

Angela Kim
Associate, Private Client Group
Angela joined Litman Gregory in 2011. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Angela worked as a servicing representative and administrator at Credit Union Home Mortgage Solutions in Seattle, Washington. She is a graduate of University of Washington (BA-Economics; Concentration - Finance).

Catherine Layton
Sr. Associate, Private Client Group
Catherine joined Litman Gregory in 2003. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Catherine was Lead Administrator of Permanent Placement Services for Robert Half International in San Francisco. Catherine is a graduate of Dominican University of California (BA - Psychology; Emphasis - Business/Organizational Psychology).

Brian Linn
Operations Analyst
Brian Linn joined Litman Gregory in 2008 as a Partnership Administrator before transitioning into his current role. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Brian worked as a financial operations specialist for Wetherby Asset Management. Brian is a graduate of UC Davis (BA - Political Science).

Monica Munoz
Associate Investment Advisor
Monica joined Litman Gregory in 2007 as a Portfolio Administrator and transitioned to Associate Investment Advisor in 2010. She provides financial analysis and portfolio management support to the investment advisory team. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, she served in several capacities with Paul Financial, LLC, most recently as a Wholesale Account Executive. Before that, she worked with Alders Financial Solutions, a financial planning firm in Novato, CA. Monica is a graduate of Sonoma State University (BS - Business Administration; Concentration - Finance).

Corrina Steinberg

Corrina joined Litman Gregory in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Corrina worked as an Assistant Account Manager for William Lagomarsino & Co., an insurance agency.

Joy Thompson
Portfolio Administrator
Joy joined Litman Gregory in 2006, and prior to that served as Senior Investment Management Specialist for the Institutional Division of Charles Schwab, Inc. Prior to holding that position, she served in various other roles at Schwab working with affluent and active trader clients, and as a NASD licensed broker and supervisor. Joy is a graduate of Arizona State University (BS - Marketing; Emphasis in Pre-Med).

Jennifer Ceccarelli
CRCP, Partner, Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Operations Officer - Investment Management Services Group
Jennifer joined Litman Gregory in 1994 and became partner in 2011. Jennifer has held several positions during her tenure at the company, including Manager of Client Service, Senior Systems Analyst, and Business Analyst. In addition to her role as Chief Compliance Officer, she serves as the Chief Operations Officer for the firm's Investment Management Services Group. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Jennifer worked as a mutual fund accountant for Robertson Stephens & Company and prior to that for a private fund manager in San Francisco. Jennifer is a graduate from Bentley College (BS - Business Communications) and has earned the designation of Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) by the FINRA Institute at Wharton.

John Coughlan
Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer - L/G Fund Advisors
John Coughlan serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Litman Gregory Fund Advisors, LLC. John also serves as the Treasurer and Chief Compliance Officer of the Litman Gregory Masters Funds Trust. John joined Litman Gregory in 1996, prior to which he served as Controller of Centex Homes of Northern California and Senior Vice President of Countrywide Capital Markets Group. John is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University (BS - Accounting), and has earned the Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation from the FINRA Institute at Wharton.

Steve Disenhof
MBA, MSW, Partner, Director of Resources
Steve joined Litman Gregory in 1998 and became a partner in 2004. His responsibilities include human resource management as well as technology infrastructure, facilities and business continuity planning. Steve writes a regular blog focusing on backoffice operations for AdvisorIntelligence. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Steve worked as the Day Treatment Program Manager at the Edgewood Center for Children and Families. Douglas Dooley
MS, Director of Information Technology
Doug joined Litman Gregory in 2002 as a member of the investment technology team. Doug designs and manages data analysis and information systems used by the Research and Portfolio Management teams. Doug has been in the investment business since 1979. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, he was the Director of Information Technology at Mellon Capital Management, a $70 billion global institutional investment management business. In the early 1990s, Doug managed institutional equity index fund portfolios, and prior to that worked as a consultant on various software and materials science engineering projects. Doug is a graduate of University of California - Berkeley (BS - Engineering Physics; MS - Engineering Science, Ph.D. - Candidate Nuclear Engineering).

Lisa Filippi
Receptionist, Administrative Assistant
Lisa joined Litman Gregory in 2011. Prior to her work here, Lisa worked as the Spa Manager for the Bodega Bay Lodge. Before that she worked as a Massage Instructor at Sonoma College and prior to that as an Administrative Assistant for ETA Accounting Software Specialists. Lisa holds an Associates Degree from Santa Rosa Junior College (AA – Arts).

Carol Francisco
Office Manager
Carol joined Litman Gregory in 1996 as Office Assistant, and transitioned into her current role as Office Manager in 1998. Carol keeps both the Larkspur and Orinda offices running smoothly, as well as handles employee benefits, company event planning, and managing the Litman Gregory Fun Committee. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Carol worked as a Ski School Director in the Tahoe Basin, and prior to that in Personnel with the California State Park system.

Alice Lowenstein
CFP®, Partner, Director - Managed Portfolios
Alice joined Litman Gregory in 2008 and became partner in 2011. She is responsible for institutional client relationships and product management for the firm’s Managed Portfolios and Litman Gregory Masters Funds. She also serves as a member of Litman Gregory’s Investment Committee. Alice has worked in the financial industry for more than 17 years. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Alice was a Vice President with Fidelity Investments and held a variety of senior roles at Morningstar including Associate Editor and Analyst. Alice is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a columnist and reviewer for the Journal of Financial Planning. Alice is a graduate of Stephens College.

Shannon Matthiesen
Editorial Manager - AdvisorIntelligence
Shannon joined Litman Gregory in 2004 and is responsible for managing the editorial content of the No-Load Fund Analyst and AdvisorIntelligence, an investment research website offered through Litman Gregory Analytics, LLC. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Shannon worked as an Associate Editor for a building industry magazine in Southern California, and prior to that as a Media Supervisor for Starcom MediaVest Group in London and Chicago. Her writing has been published in national newspapers and magazines including FastCompany and American Way. Shannon is a graduate of Northwestern University (BS - Magazine Journalism).

David Mayeda

David joined Litman Gregory in 2010 as an Advisor Service Representative for AdvisorIntelligence. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, David worked at RS Investments in Mutual Fund Operations and Sales. Prior to that, David worked at Franklin Templeton Investments in the Fund Information group. David is a graduate of San Francisco State University (BS - Business Administration).

Theresa Meyer
Business Analyst
Theresa joined Litman Gregory in 1995, and has held several positions during her tenure at the company including Office Assistant, Portfolio Administrator, and Client Service Manager. She currently serves as a liaison between the various business units and the information technology group. She analyzes business processes to identify and capture requirements so that technology can be employed to meet those needs. Theresa acts as an internal consultant to identify and define process improvements throughout the firm. Theresa is a graduate of St. Mary's College (BA - Psychology).

Elaine Ormonde-Hua
Marketing Manager
Elaine joined Litman Gregory in 2007 as the Marketing Assistant for AdvisorIntelligence.com. In 2010 she transitioned into the role of Marketing Coordinator for Litman Gregory Asset Management, and in 2011 she became the firm’s Marketing Manager. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Elaine worked in Operations at the San Francisco Chronicle for almost six years. She has additional experience as an Administrative Assistant with Ernst & Young and as the Website Editor for the nonprofit organization onebrick.org. Elaine is a graduate of Simpson University - Redding (BA - English) and in 2011 earned, with distinction, a Professional Certificate in Marketing from UC Berkeley, Extension.

J.P. Musgrove
Managed Portfolios Associate
J.P. joined Litman Gregory in 2011. He contributes to investment communications, client service, marketing and sales, investment operations, and data research for the Managed Portfolios business line. Prior to joining the firm, J.P. served as the Founder and Executive Director of the SMART Program working to provide financial literacy to college student athletes. Prior to that, he served as a Financial Services Professional for MassMutual Financial Group. J.P. is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of California (BA- Business Administration).

Kathy Proper
Bookkeeper - Accounting
Kathy joined Litman Gregory in 1991. Kathy works with the Chief Financial Officer and Controller and maintains the financial books and records for the Litman Gregory entities. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in the accounting department for Transamerica Corporation, and later as the full charge bookkeeper for Shartsis Friese, LLP. During that same period of time she went to business school and subsequently operated her own accounting business.

Chad Perbeck
Advisor Services Associate
Chad joined Litman Gregory in 2012. He serves as the Advisor Services Associate, providing support to the other investment advisors who follow Litman Gregory’s research and advice through AdvisorIntelligence or who implement the Litman Gregory Managed Portfolios for their clients. Prior to joining the firm, Chad co-founded HPS Capital Advisors, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisory firm providing strategic marketing solutions to global investment managers. He began his financial career in the wealth management and private client services division of Bear, Stearns & Co. Chad is a graduate of Tufts University (B.A. Psychology, B.A. Classics) and was co-captain of the Jumbo’s basketball team.

Renee Paisley
Accounting Associate
Renee joined Litman Gregory in 2011. She works with the Chief Financial Officer and Controller and maintains the financial books and records for the Litman Gregory entities. Renee has extensive experience as an accountant, contract administrator, and property manager in various industries such as leasing, real estate, and financial services. Renee holds a California Real Estate license and is a graduate of the Universidad de Lima (Lima, Peru) (BS - Accounting and Finance).

Maria Romano
Manager, Affiliate Relations - AdvisorIntelligence
Maria joined Litman Gregory in 1994, and has held several positions during her tenure at the firm, including Executive Assistant, Production Editor for the No-Load Fund Analyst newsletter, and Coordinator of Corporate Events. Maria currently serves as Manager of Sponsor Relations for AdvisorIntelligence, a web-based investment research site offered through Litman Gregory Analytics, LLC. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Maria was the Coordinator of Public Relations and Advertising for the Northern California headquarters of Coldwell Banker. Prior to that, she was the Public Relations Assistant at Valley Memorial Hospital in Livermore. Maria is a graduate of the University of California - Davis (BA - English; Minor in Spanish).

Sheila joined Litman Gregory in 2005, and has also served as Administrative Assistant. Her current responsibilities include tracking fund activity and performance, and monitoring marketing materials. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Sheila worked in the real estate industry, and prior to that as Call Center Administrator for a national private reading school.

Ginger joined Litman Gregory in 2007. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Ginger worked with a large homebuilder in California for over eight years. Prior to that she worked with a medium-sized law firm in San Francisco and, for a large majority of her career, worked in the communications industry.

Jochen van der Muehlen
MCSA, MCSE, Systems Administrator
Jochen joined Litman Gregory in 2007 and is responsible for the firm's technology infrastructure and support. Before joining Litman Gregory, Jochen was the Information Technology Manager for Mindjet Corporation, an international software manufacturer with offices in San Francisco, Frankfurt and the United Kingdom. Prior to that, he worked for various technology firms in the U.S. and Germany. Jochen holds many technical distinctions, including Microsoft MCSE 2003 and MCSA 2000 certifications, as well as Patchlink Operator, Administrator and Engineer certifications. He is a graduate of the Institute of Rationalization-Technical University Aachen, and the Deutsche Angestellten Akademie, both in Aachen, Germany.

Theodore Vadpey

Theodore joined Litman Gregory in January 2012 as a part-time Financial Writing Associate. He is a recent graduate of the University of California - Berkeley (BA - Political Economy), where in addition to his primary studies, he spent six months in an advanced language program studying ancient texts in Beijing, China.

Laura White
Associate, Operations Group
Laura joined Litman Gregory in 2006 as our Compliance Associate, where she served as the key assistant to our Chief Compliance Officer. In 2012, she transitioned to our Operations Group, where she is responsible for many of the daily tasks, such as trading setup and maintenance of our various portfolio and client relationship databases. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Laura was the manager of a small court reporting firm in Oakland, and prior to that she served for many years as Human Resource Manager and Administrative Specialist at Fred Finch Youth Center. Laura is a graduate of St. Mary's College of California (BA - Integral Liberal Arts).

Diane Ziesing
Controller
Diane joined Litman Gregory in 2007. She works with the Chief Financial Officer to direct the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of Litman Gregory operations. Prior to joining Litman Gregory Diane managed the accounting and human resources at Paradise Foods in Corte Madera. Prior to that she was the Controller for Terrace Consulting in San Francisco and an Accountant for Arthur Andersen & Co. in the audit and tax divisions in San Francisco. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley (BS - Accounting and Finance).

Amanda Armstrong
Compliance Manager, CRCP
Amanda joined Litman Gregory in 2010 and is responsible for managing the Compliance Department. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Amanda worked for Conifer Securities (a FINRA member firm) as a Senior Compliance Analyst/AML Compliance Officer for the broker-dealer and served as a Compliance Consultant for State and SEC Registered Investment Advisers. Amanda is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento (BA – Sociology) and has earned the designation of Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) by the FINRA Institute at Wharton.

Susan joined Litman Gregory in 2010. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Susan worked in the financial services industry as a Marketing Assistant. In addition Susan spent 10 years in the Sales & Marketing divisions of AT&T. Susan is a graduate of St. Mary's College in Moraga (B.A. Business).

Scott Jones
Institutional Relationship Manager - Litman Gregory Masters Funds
Scott joined Litman Gregory in May 2010 and is responsible for institutional client relationships and business development for the Litman Gregory Masters Funds. Scott has worked in the financial industry for more than 15 years providing relationship management, sales, and marketing services to financial institutions, independent planners, and wirehouse firms. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Scott was Vice President and Account Manager for Financial Institutions at Lincoln Financial Distributors and held a variety of roles at PLANCO Distributors including Key Accounts Manager and Mutual Fund Service Manager.

Julia joined Litman Gregory in 2010 as an Executive Assistant. Prior to Litman Gregory, Julia worked as an Executive Assistant at Meyer Sound Laboratories in Berkeley. Throughout her career, Julia has held various marketing, project management, and analyst positions at companies that include Blackrock, Inc., Bank of America, and Intel. Julia is a graduate of UC Berkeley (BA, Economics) and University of Michigan (MBA).

Mike joined Litman Gregory in 2010. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Mike was a Mortgage Coordinator with Emery Financial. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (BA – American Studies) and is currently pursuing graduate coursework at Saint Mary’s College of California (MS-Finance and MBA).

Gina joined Litman Gregory in 2011 as an Administrative Assistant on the Client Service Team. Gina’s previous work experience included various roles such as Regulatory Compliance Analyst for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Credit Analyst/Underwriter for Greenpoint Mortgage and Administrative Assistant for Arthur Andersen & Company. Gina completed a two-year certificate program at College of Marin.

Greg joined Litman Gregory in 2011 and in 2012 transitioned to our Research Team where he provides research and analysis support. Prior to this role, he served on our Operations Team, where he was responsible for acting as a liaison between the client service, operations, and information technologies groups. Prior to joining Litman Gregory, Greg served in a number of lead operations' roles with Stafford Capital Management, Steinberg Asset Management, and Advent Software. Greg is a graduate of Wittenberg University (BA-Economics).
